lighthouse with distracting wires and a pole

Most “touristy” pictures are usually little more than snapshots and include myriad distractions. Those distractions always include the many electric lines and the large utilities pole in front of the lighthouse. Those snapshots are also marred by people wandering by, cars in the way and possibly even litter in the streets. Bill’s photographs have many distractions (wires) edited out and time is taken to make sure tourists and cars are not in the way. Can you get rid of the wires and the pole in the image to the right?

These photographs will make wonderful gifts for your friends, family and loved ones.

The Lighthouse between Fenwick Island and Ocean City

A lighthouse in Sussex County, Delaware, on the Delaware/Maryland state line.

The official opening of the Fenwick Island Lighthouse, when the light was first lit as an aid to navigation, was on August 1, 1859. Nearly 120 years later, in February, 1979, (then) Gov. Pete Dupont stated, “The Fenwick Island Lighthouse has long been an important landmark along the Delaware coast.  Its historical significance remains, even if its utility as a navigational aid is past.  It should be maintained as an important link to Delaware’s maritime history.

Here is how it appears today.
